L'auteur - Michael Bond

Michael Bond est le créateur du l'ours Paddington, personnage bien connu de la littérature de jeunesse et adapté en film en 2014. Il a servi dans la Royal Air Force et la British Army avant de devenir cameraman pour la BBC. En 1958, il crée son petit ours en écrivant Un ours nommé Paddington : c'est le début d'une aventure de plus de 150 titres, traduits dans une quarantaine de langues. Michael Bond est nommé en 2015 officier de l'ordre de l'Empire britannique pour ses services rendus à la littérature jeunesse. Il était une fois le Château des Souris est son premier album publié chez Albin Michel Jeunesse.

Michael Bond was born in Newbury, Berkshire on 13 January 1926 and educated at Presentation College, Reading. He served in the Royal Air Force and the British Army before working as a cameraman for BBC TV for 19 years. In 2015, Michael was awarded a CBE for his services to children's literature, to add to the OBE he received in 1997. Michael died in 2017, leaving behind one of the great literary legacies of our time.
