EXTRACT
Steve turned pale on seeing the tip of the ice pick get bigger in front of his eye. He would like to scream but he was stricken with fear.
Hector knows what he's got to do. Put the end piece between the eyelid and the eye, place the pick diagonally then hit it sharply so that the rod thrusts in about 7cm before making him run in semi-circles, a matter of thinning out the frontal lobe, which is the cause for his son's cowardly behaviour.
A huge inspiration. A lot of groaning. Then, suddenly, an ear-piercing shout of pain. Blood was flowing from his eye and was running down the metallic rod.
'It's almost over. I only have to...'
Hector cannot finish the long speech which was supposed to reassure his son. He feels a violent impact on the top of his skull and his sight instantly faded away. He is brutally thrown on his side and finds himself stretched out on the tiles.
The blows kept coming in. He doesn't hear them and doesn't feel any pain. An opaque veil makes its way in the nothingness, then he started to see again. He slowly lifts up his head and frightfully notices that it wasn't he who was receiving the blows, but his son.
Fabienne is there, smiling and standing next to the chair. She hits Steve's head with the pot, again and again.
'Darling, stop!'
Fabienne didn't stop. It even seemed to Hector that her smile grew larger.
Hector painfully gets up and makes his way towards his wife. She must immediately stop that. It's not her fault. She didn't have any bad intentions. Perhaps, she thought that hector needed help. She must stop hitting her only child. He alone can lift their image, to finally become someone respectable and respected in the family.
'Stop !' Hector orders Fabienne grabbing her hands before she brings it down again on their son.

L'auteur - Davy Artero
Auteur de romans mêlant fantastique et épouvante, ses principaux récits se classent dans la littérature d'horreur.
Mais à chaque côté sombre, son côté clair : il a à son actif également de nombreux contes pour enfants, des romans jeunesse et un ouvrage d'humour..
À ce jour, il est impossible de savoir si son prochain ouvrage va ravir les plus jeunes, amuser les adolescents ou s'il va terrifier à nouveau les plus grands...
Davy est né en 1976 à Vernon dans l'Eure (27). Passionné d'écriture, ses premiers ouvrages sont des contes jeunesse écrits pour ses enfants.
Féru de cinéma et de littérature fantastique depuis sa tendre enfance, il se lance par défi dans la réalisation d'un roman d'épouvante en 2009, « Quatre Saisons », qu'il publiera en auto-édition en 2010. L'amour du genre horrifique et le besoin de coucher de terribles histoires sur papier ne le quitteront plus depuis.
Aimant se renouveler sans cesse, il réalisera par la suite un recueil de nouvelles fantastiques avec « Consciente Agonie », un long roman d'horreur avec la trilogie « Heptagon » et un recueil de nouvelles illustrés, « Duodaemonium », réalisé en compagnie de l'illustrateur Jordan Henry qui sera publié chez YIL Édition en 2013.
Le roman « Lyza », rendant hommage au cinéma et à la littérature d'horreur dont il est friand est publié aux Éditions des Tourments en 2014 et est suivi du recueil de nouvelles « Terreurs Nocturnes ».
En 2015, petite incursion dans le domaine comique avec la sortie d'un roman sur la crise de la quarantaine, histoire de repartir sereinement dans de plus sombres récits ensuite.
Différentes nouvelles horrifiques ont été publiées dans des recueils collectifs, comme "Requiem" aux Editions des Tourments en 2013, ou "Super-Héros" et "Dans l'Ombre" chez Elenya Editions en 2014 et 2016.
Après près de 19 ouvrages réalisés, Davy poursuit les projets et les collaborations, et ne semble pas prêt de s'arrêter... Janvier 2017 voit la réédition de Lyza, Terreurs Nocturnes, Consciente Agonie, Sombres Nouvelles ; mais aussi et surtout la sortie de Bienvenue, un roman écrit en collaboration avec Christophe Gallo. Fin 2018, Frayeurs sort et début 2019, avec la collaboration de plusieurs auteurs, il signe Transfusion... En avril 2019, sa trilogie horrifique HEPTAGON réapparait... Il décide aussi de faire traduire 4 de ses nouvelles en anglais dans un petit recueil qui parait en août 2019 : FEAR...
En octobre 2020 sort son dernier recueil de nouvelles horrifIques : ANGOISSE
