Cette lecture suivie et intégrale du livre de l'Apocalypse croise analyse textuelle et intégration d'axes méthodologiques interdisciplinaires : exégèse, sémiotique biblique, ouverture sur la psychanalyse. C'est à la sémiotique biblique qu'elle doit d'approcher de manière renouvelée le type d'écriture propre à l'Apocalypse. Résistant à toute logique rationnelle comme à toute interprétation extérieure aux parcours figuratifs de son propre tissage textuel, l'oeuvre de Jean de Patmos donne à son lecteur d'éprouver le souffle et le dynamisme évangéliques qui l'habitent et la structurent. Comme son nom déjà l'indique - « apocalypse » ne signifie pas malheur ou « catastrophe », mais « dévoilement », « révélation » -, le livre de l'Apocalypse sert le dévoilement du propos créateur de Dieu. Sa Parole, attestée et révélée en Jésus Christ, s'y expérimente comme « bonheur de lire », pour une alliance de vie et de libération. À bon entendeur de garder, pour sa joie, l'heureuse annonce du règne d'un Dieu qui, en Jésus Christ, se révèle vainqueur des idéologies idolâtres et des pratiques injustes portées par une humanité sous l'emprise des puissances du mal et de la mort.

This commented and unabridged reading of the Book of Revelation combines textual analysis with the integration of interdisciplinary methodological axes: exegetic, semiotic, biblical, opening onto psychoanalysis. Thanks to biblical semiotics, we can approach the type of writing specific to Revelation in a completely new way. Resisting all rational logic and all interpretation outside the figurative pattern of its own textual creation, the work of John of Patmos permits the reader to feel the breath and evangelical dynamism that inhabit and structure it. As its name indicates, 'Revelation' means 'unveiling' - the Book of Revelation unveils the creative word of God. His Word, confirmed and revealed in Jesus Christ, is deployed as a 'joy to read' in the service of an alliance of life and liberation. The wise, for their pleasure, will conserve the joyous proclamation of the reign of a God who, in Jesus Christ, is revealed to be the conqueror of idol-worshipping ideologies and unjust practices nourished by humanity in the hold of the powers of evil and death.
