Arthroscopy of the shoulder is constantly evolving, pushing back the limits of surgery which is intended to be less and less invasive, and more and more respectful of the anatomy and tissues which make this joint so unique.
The quality of irrigation pumps, the control of intra-operative blood pressure variations and the availability of electrocoagulation probes have undoubtedly led to the development of a form of surgery that was historically profoundly affected by bleeding. Technological innovation in the field of visualization and anchoring systems has also improved surgical performance for the benefit of our patients. Nevertheless, learning the technique is demanding, sometimes confusing, and must be based on the rigor of a reproducible procedure.

L'auteur - Vincent MARTINEL
Après des études de médecine, Vincent Martinel est interne des hôpitaux, puis chef de clinique à Toulouse. Il est installé à Tarbes depuis 2008 à la clinique Ormeau Pyrenées.
Passionné par la chirurgie de l’épaule, il l’est tout autant par ses Pyrénées qu’il parcourt sans relâche.
Sur un coup de tête, il s’est mis un jour en vacances à débuter ce livre dont il a réalisé seul la totalité des dessins.
